These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of VidSkimmer, operated by Tardigrade Tools LLC ("we", "us", or "our"). By using VidSkimmer, you agree to these Terms.

Description of Service

VidSkimmer is a tool that generates AI-powered summaries of YouTube videos. It consists of a Chrome browser extension and a Windows desktop application that work together to provide video summaries on demand.

Account Registration

To use VidSkimmer beyond the free tier, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use VidSkimmer only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Use the service to violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits or abuse the service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use automated systems to access the service beyond normal use
• Resell or redistribute the service without permission

YouTube Terms of Service

VidSkimmer accesses publicly available YouTube video transcripts. Your use of VidSkimmer must comply with YouTube's Terms of Service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google. VidSkimmer is an independent third-party tool.

Subscription and Payments

Free Tier: Provides limited summaries at no cost. Requires email registration.

Pro Subscription: Provides additional summaries per month for a recurring fee. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled.

Top-Up Credits: One-time purchases that add summaries to your account. Top-up credits do not expire.

All payments are processed by LemonSqueezy. Prices are subject to change with notice. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee 100% uptime. VidSkimmer depends on third-party services (YouTube, Anthropic Claude API) that may experience outages or changes outside our control. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time.

Intellectual Property

VidSkimmer and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Tardigrade Tools LLC and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Summaries generated by VidSkimmer are derivative works based on YouTube video content. The original video content remains the property of its respective creators. You may use generated summaries for personal purposes.

Disclaimer of Warranties

VidSkimmer is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Summaries will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any purpose
• The service will meet your specific requirements

AI-generated summaries may contain errors or omissions. Always verify important information by watching the original video.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tardigrade Tools LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

• Your use or inability to use VidSkimmer
• Any errors or inaccuracies in summaries
• Unauthorized access to your account
• Any third-party conduct on the service

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tardigrade Tools LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of VidSkimmer or violation of these Terms.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may cancel your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the service. Continued use of VidSkimmer after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
